Commonly Asked Questions About Chiropractic
How does chiropractic work? Misaligned or improper motion of the bones of the spine can cause "subluxations". This can interfere or irritate the nerves that send messages down the spinal cord and out to your organs and tissues. Adjustments can help re-align the vertebrae correcting subluxations. Chiropractic works because we are self-healing and self-regulating organism controlled by our nervous system. How do I get subluxations?
We get subluxated just by living but there are 3 major causes:
  1. Physical; accidents, falls, improper lifting and repetitive motions.
  2. Emotions; anger, grief and fear.
  3. Chemical; poor diet, pollution, drugs and alcohol.
How do I know if I have a subluxation?
Like tooth decay or cancer, subluxations can be present long before any symptoms appear. A few common symptoms are; Headaches, neck, back and hip pain and tingling and numbness in the extremities. A thorough examination can show the location and severity of subluxations.
Can subluxations clear up on their own?
Sometimes they can, but an uncorrected subluxation can place pressure on the nerves causing nerve interference. Even the slightest pressure (the weight of a dime resting on the back of your hand) is enough pressure to cause nerve interference.
